This Wild Yam Balancing Balm was created as both herbal support for women moving through hormonal transitions- menstrual cycles, perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.
Wild yam has long been used in traditional herbal medicine to support women during times of hormonal fluctuation. It has been known to help ease menstrual discomfort, support emotional steadiness, and bring gentle balance during menopausal transitions. Over the years, many of my clients have asked about this plant, and I share this remedy not only from study, but from lived experience and teachings passed to me by elders and traditional healers.

Menopause as Initiation - “Riding the Dragon”
In many wisdom traditions, menopause was never viewed as decline or loss. It was seen as an initiation—a powerful stage often called “Riding the Dragon.”
A time when life force, long stored in the lower body, begins to rise, clearing emotional memory, stagnant patterns, and old belief structures.
In modern life, we often carry unprocessed experiences for decades. When this life force begins to move, it can feel overwhelming to the nervous system—manifesting as hot flashes, mood shifts, insomnia, emotional intensity, or physical discomfort. These symptoms were once understood as energy awakening, not pathology.
This balm was created to support that passage, not suppress it.
Medicine as Relationship
I invite you to use this balm not simply as a product, but as a ceremony.
Take time.
Touch your body with presence.
Offer gratitude to the plants and to the Earth.
Ask for guidance, insight, and gentleness as you move through this stage.
Menopause—and hormonal transition at any age—is a call to reconnect with the body in a loving, patient, listening way.
This balm may support many women during hormonal change, but each body carries its own genetics, ancestry, emotional history, and lived experience. Deep healing often asks for more than one doorway. This balm is a powerful ally—not a replacement for inner work, emotional release, or skilled support.
Crafted in the Old Ways
I gather many of my herbs myself, far from roads, industry, and polluted lands. Others come from trusted medicine people around the world who work in deep reciprocity with the Earth.
These remedies are not made by “throwing ingredients into a pot.”
They are created through slow, ancestral methods that honor the relationships between plants, elements, time, and intention.
My oils are infused at very low temperatures over long periods, allowing the plants to release their full medicinal intelligence without breaking their energetic integrity. This is how my ancestors worked—and how I continue to work today.
These oils are alive.
